TENANT TIPS AND INFO......
HOW TO AVOID BED BUGS!!!
1. When you travel, it is best to always inspect your hotels
or motels for bed bugs before you unpack your clothes.
Simple checks under the mattress, headboard, or drawers
using a flash light is a good idea. Only take out clothes
and other things that you need from your luggage, keep
the rest sealed in plastics. When you get home, inspect all
your belongings carefully before you bring everything in
your room.
2. Stay away from used furniture or bedding items. Some
people get rid of them because of bed bugs which you
might be taking home when you pick them up. Box springs
are the favorite hiding place of bed bugs so don't even
think about taking in used box spring from neighbors.
3. When you hear news about bed bugs infestation, consider
buying a protective cover for your box springs and
mattresses that will seal and prevent bed bugs from getting
in. However, if you already have bed bugs this will not
ensure they will kill them because bed bugs can survive a
year without blood.
4. Seal cracks or crevices as much as you can because these
are perfect entry point and hiding places for bed bugs.
Keep in mind that bed bugs can travel up to 100 feet just to
feed from their hosts. So if your neighbor had bed bugs, it
is possible that you can get infested too.
5. Clean your house and sanitize places where they could be
hiding. Box spring, mattresses, picture frames, headboards,
furniture, lamp, luggage, cabinets, drawers, and any
isolated dark places are your first suspects for nesting
ground of bed bugs. If you have a steam cleaner, you can
use it to sanitize your house. Bed bugs will not survive
temperature around 110F.
6. At the any signs of bed bugs, it is best to call the experts to
prevent it from spreading even more.
Prevention is always better than cure. People spend thousands of dollars trying to get rid stubborn bed bugs. But if you can prevent them from getting in in the first place, you will save yourself a lot of money and headaches.

There are several types of residential insurance policies. The HO-4 policy is designed for renters, while the HO-6 policy is for condo owners. Both HO-4 and HO-6 cover losses to your personal property from 16 types accidents, including;

Floods and earthquakes aren't on the list. If you live in an area prone to either, you'll need to buy a separate policy or a rider. In some coastal regions, where hurricanes might pose a threat, you might also need to buy a separate rider to cover wind damage.
